Make Your Own Slime

It’s always a good time of year to make slime. The slime phenomenon has really taken off, but this is always my favorite recipe. I love doing this around Halloween time because then you can decorate the outside of the containers to make designs. In this sample, which I did with my daughter’s class, I made an owl, a pumpkin, Frankenstein and ghost! You can try these designs yourself or come up with your own.

Mixture A

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup Elmer’s white glue
  • Food coloring

Mixture B

  • 1 1/3 cup warm water
  • 4 teaspoons Borax

Mix Mixture A ingredients in a small container and set aside. Mix Mixture B ingredients in a larger container. Slowly pour Mixture A into Mixture B. Swirl contents around five or six times. Life out mix and knead for 2 to 3 minutes. Store in airtight container.
