It’s the official kick-off to summer, and here’s something you can cross off your list right away…make your own bubble solution. I’ve tested this recipe against a standard store-bought brand, and I think it actually works better. Plus, anytime kids can be involved in making something as part of the outdoor activity, they’re automatically going to be more engaged.
But what about bubble wands, right? The thing is, you don’t really need those plastic wands. Chances are you already have some great items in your house to make bubbles…like spoon with slats, a jar ring or even a wire hanger you can bend. Another quick and easy way to make bubble wands is to use pipe cleaners. You can twist and turn these into any shape you want and add a handle as well. Have fun and use your imagination. Here’s the bubble solution we like to use.
2 cups water
1/2 cup dish soap
1/4 cup light Karo syrup
Mix well and store in a plastic container with a tight lid.
